Prospects Get The Best Of Gauthier

It was a meeting of the top prospects in the country last night in Red Deer as 40 players from the Western Hockey League, Ontario Hockey League, and Quebec Major Junior Hockey League all combined for the Annual CHL/NHL Top Prospects game. While Cougars Taylor Gauthier didn’t start, he did get in half way through the contest, but it didn’t all go as planned. Gauthier entered in the second period and made his first 7 saves, but with Team Cherry up 4-1 early in the third, Moncton Wildcat Jakob Pelletier going to slip one through to cut the lead to two. With just four minutes remaining now, that lead going to quickly disappear, a wrister through traffic goes in, then Prince Albert Raider Brett Leason scores the game-tying goal less than a minute later, and then Team Orr caps it off with their third marker in 72 seconds.
