This February in Red Deer, the stars and stripes will lace them up. As our country's top athletes get set to compete at the Canada Winter Games, a Prince George referee is among them, ready to whistle her way through the competition. Danika Kroeker is one of 4 female referees and 8 BC refs that will officiate at this year's national event. Kroeker began playing hockey at 10 and picked up refereeing just two years later. She's been climbing the ranks, finding herself on the ice for university games and most recently, a junior B game, but this will be her biggest event yet.
