Timberwolves Men Lose, Women Win Against UBC

The Timberwolves basketball teams are in Vancouver taking on the UBC Thunderbirds this weekend. The men were in tough against the powerhouse Thunderbird team. The men kept it close at the half only down 49-40 but a 28-12  third quarter for the Thunderbirds all but sealed the win. The Timberwolves came away with a 94-75 win.

Tyrell Laing led the Timberwolves in scoring with 19 points while Patrick Simon led the Thunderbirds with 20 points.

On the women’s side, it was a strong second and third quarter that helped the Timberwolves get past the Thunderbirds. The Timberwolves outscored the Thunderbirds 42-20 in those quarters. The final score saw the Timberwolves come away with a 77-60 victory.

Madison Landry led the T-Wolves in scoring with a game-high 19 points while Maddison Penn led the Thunderbirds with 15 points and 14 rebounds as she surpassed the 1,000 point mark in career points.
