PRINCE GEORGE – Cariboo-Prince George MP Todd Doherty continuing to push for increased awareness of PTSD in Canada – as he introduces a private members bill to establish “Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Awareness Day.”

In a statement, he says  “the brave men and women who serve our country often endure life-altering events that leave them with emotional and physical scars”.

The bill seeks to make June 27th National PTSD Awareness Day. He adds this builds off C-211 – a bill passed last year that requires the government to develop a framework to address challenges, symptoms, diagnosis and treatment of the disorder.

Doherty is seeking unanimous consent of the house, in order to meet the June deadline.
