PRINCE GEORGE – Organizers of the World Para-Nordic Skiing Championships want the event to be green. They are asking the hundreds of volunteers who will be Otway to bring their own water bottles so they can access the new water filling station that was installed.

“It was a great suggestion made for people to bring their own water bottles that they can refill,” explains Kevin Petterson, Chair of the Organizing Committee. “That just plays a little bit of a part to help reduce the waste of disposable water bottles here on site.”

Music to Terri McClymont’s ears.

“It’s great to hear that sports teams, events are starting to go green” says McClymont, who heads up REAPS. “So getting rid of disposables. Whether it’s cutlery, paper plates or whether it’s the water bottles or the coffee mugs, it’s great to people encouraging you to bring your own and just refill it.”
