PRINCE GEORGE — Mounties in Prince George are investigating a weekend shooting.

Cpl. Craig Douglass says the incident occurred Saturday night at approximately 11:15 p.m. on the 500 block of Alward Street.

He says multiple officers attended the area to find an “unoccupied, insecure residence.”

Douglass says further investigation has lead police to believe that an exchange of gunfire occurred between the occupant(s)of a vehicle and the occupant(s) of the residence.

He says the vehicle and the occupants of the house fled the area before police arrived and notes at least one bullet pierced the exterior wall of a neighbouring home.

No injuries have been reported and the vehicle in question is described as a dark coloured sedan.

Douglass says a police dog service team was called in to locate the occupant(s) of the sedan but no one was located. The two adult residents of the home have been located and have been spoken to.

He says police believe the incident was targeted and not a random act.

If you have any information you are asked to call police at (250)-561-3300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
