PRINCE GEORGE- More and more people are wanting to get their bodies cremated after they pass away, but what about the space of where to put them afterwards? Well, the city is looking at a future option called green burial.

Green burial is a way for people to be buried that seeks to minimize their impact on the local and global environment after they are gone. It can be for people who want a spiritually fulfilling alternative to conventional burial or cremation plus it saves space at already existing cemeteries.

Officially there are only two recognized large green burial providers in Canada by the Green Burial Society of Canada, one in Victoria and the other in Ontario. Prince George could soon be added to that list as the idea was discussed at a council meeting earlier this year.
