Vehicle collisions on a section of Highway 16 West raising concerns

PRINCE GEORGE –  A stretch of highway west of Prince George has been a concern for some residents who live in the Beaverly area.

In the past few weeks, the section of Highway 16 West between Hartman road and West Beaverly Road has been busy for emergency crews from the Beaverly Volunteer fire hall having responded to just fewer than ten motor vehicle accidents.

According to some residents, some sections of the highway are rutted and filled with ice, causing some drivers to lose control of their vehicle.

Prince George-Valemount Liberal MLA Shirley Bond says highway maintenance crews should maintain the highway at its designated class A standard.
