Icy roads lead to all-time high road collisions

VANCOUVER – During the winter months, ICBC says crashes are at an all-time high in the province.

On average, 51 casualty crashes happen in February in the North Central Interior.

ICBC says cold temperatures have led to those compact, icy road conditions and it’s reminding drivers to stay safe.

It says motorists should always ensure their full attention is on the road, the vehicle is completely cleared of snow and ice, and in extreme weather events consider taking other modes of transportation.
