PRINCE GEORGE – A sizeable crowd gathered in the UNBC Bentley Centre to be part of the Moose Hide campaign.

The event is a grassroots movement of Indigenous and non-Indigenous men standing up against violence towards women and children.

The campaign was originally started by a father and daughter after a moose hunting trip in their traditional territory near Highway 16, the Highway of Tears. It has since grown from a single event into events across the country.

Participants are encouraged to wear a piece of moose hide to show support and raise interest in the campaign. The pin is supposed to signify honouring and protecting women and children.
