PRINCE GEORGE -As the World Para Nordic Skiing Championships prepare to open, a local singer will be showcasing her latest original song.  No stranger to ski racing and Otway itself, musician Sage Bialuski will perform “Know My Name” during the opening ceremonies Friday, February 15th at the Civic Centre.

The classical pianist who is working on her ARCT wth the Royal Conservatory once had Olympic aspiriations, but they were dashed by an accident at the age of 15. It took Sage three years to fully recover and music became more of a focus and therapy for the teen. During that time she debuted her own composition for the Canada Winter Games. Four years later at the age of 20 she is presenting her new work called “Know My Name” to be performed at the opening ceremonies of the skiing championships.

“Writing just kinda came naturally,  it helped me deal with my emotions and losing my identity.  I have alot of songs that I am looking forward to releasing hopefully,” said Bialuski.

With an understanding of the love, devotion and passion for paranordic sports, Sage can still be found on the trails at Otway, or on her piano bench practicing her own compositions and teaching young musicians.
