PRINCE GEORGE – There’s is more than $400 million up for grabs at the Conference and Civic Centre, as Coast Gas Link is hosting an economic summit. It’s one of many such summits taking place and this one is the largest to date. It involved established contractors “speed-dating” with contract hopefuls for the six-billion-dollar project that will build the pipeline between the Peace Country and a plant in Kitimat.

“Today is about connecting individuals and subcontractors with opportunities with Coast GasLink’s prime contractors,” explains Kiel Giddens, Regional Manager, BC Projects. “This is really the opportunity for the rubber to hit the road, so to speak, with the LNG opportunity in Northern BC.”

Preliminary construction of the pipeline began in the Chetwynd area in January and activities are expected to pick up in the Prince George area this summer.
