The Prince George Cougars were bested 5-4 in a shootout to extend their 14 game losing streak. It was a back and forth game throughout the night as both teams battled back after being down at some point in the game.

The Cougars had a 4-3 lead with just under three minutes to go before former Cougar Kody McDonald tied the game up and sent it to overtime. McDonald also had the shootout winner for the Royals as the Royals swept the two-game weekend set.

Carson Miller and Kody McDonald each had two goals for the Royals while Josh Maser had two goals for the Cougars with Vladislav Mikhalchuk adding a goal and an assist. Taylor Gauthier stopped 28 of 32 shots while Griffen Outhouse stopped 27 of 31.

The Cougars next chance to end the skid comes tomorrow afternoon in a Family Day affair against the Everett Silvertips.
