The Cougars could not start a winning streak after they ended their 17 game losing streak Friday in Kamloops. The Silvertips got out to a fast start and did not look back, outshooting the Cougars 24-8 in the first period for a 3-0 lead after one.

The second period saw two more goals by Everett while Matej Toman scored his sixth of the year to get the Cougars on the board. Three of Everett’s first four goals were scored on the power-play which is fifth overall in the league at 23.1%.

In the third, the Cougars would get another goal by Toman and one by Maser but it would not be enough as the Silvertips skated away with a 6-3 win on home ice.  Taylor Gauthier took the loss playing 40 minutes after Isaiah DiLaura started the first period.

The Cougars now return home for a mid-week doubleheader against the Spokane Chiefs on Tuesday and Wednesday.
