Public Library hands out hardware at annual Jeanne Clarke Local History Awards

PRINCE GEORGE — The Bob Harkins Branch of the  Prince George Public Library hosted its 34th annual Jeanne Clarke Local History Awards Sunday night.

Among the winners was retired architect and historian Trelle Morrow. Morrow received the Jeanne lark Local History Award for Service.

Some of his notable work included designing the former Prince George Citizen building on Brunswick Street and Sacred Heart Cathedral.

Other winners included Helen Raptis, who accepted the Publication Award on behalf of herself and members of the Tsimshian Nation: Two Generations Reflect on Tsimshian Education and the Day of Schools. The book explores the influence of day schools on the lives of Tsimshian people who originally lived near Prince Rupert.
