Kings overlooked in end of year awards

After a franchise-best 37 wins this season, the Spruce Kings have been overlooked in the BCHL league-wide awards. Defensemen Layton Ahac and goaltender Logan Neaton were both up for awards as Top Defenseman and Top Goaltender, but both were passed up for top players at their position.  Ahac posted 4 goals and 28 assists this season, while also being invited to the World Junior A Challenge, where Canada West earned a bronze, a trip to the CJHL Top Prospects Game, and was ranked 174th among all North American skaters by NHL Centreal Scouting. Neaton's Top Goalie snub comes as an even bigger surprise, after the goalie led the league in wins, goals against average, shutouts, and minutes logged. Penticton Vees defenseman James Miller and goalie Jack LaFontaine won the awards. Both the Kings and the Vees begin their postseasons this week.
