The Spruce Kings are not the only local team starting their playoffs this weekend. The Cariboo Cougars Minor Midget squad are also opening up their first postseason. The minor-midget league is brand new this year and sees 8 of the league's 10 teams taking part in playoffs. The Minor Cougars finished the year in third place with 14 wins, 10 losses, 1 tie, and 5 overtime losses take on the sixth-seeded Greater Vancouver Canadians. The Cats finished the year on a three-game win streak and welcome the Canadians to Kin 2 this weekend for a three-game quarterfinal series, Friday at 6:15, Saturday at 1, and if necessary Sunday at 8:30 in the morning.
