PRINCE GEORGE – A local filmmaker is hoping recent awards nominations and submissions to film festivals will help take his comedy series to the next level. First stop on the awards circuit for some of the members of the cast and crew of Geoff and the Ninja will be at the Indie Series Awards next month in California. The international awards celebrate the best in independently produced entertainment created for the web.

The Indie awards are hoped to be a first crack at getting the show picked up by a major network for local filmmaker and actor Jon Chuby,  who has been working along with Jeremy Abbott on the Geoff and the Ninja concept for well over a decade. Prince George composer and musician Curtis Abriel is nominated for best score at the Indie awards for his compositions that run as a soundtrack to the show..

Following the awards in April, the six episode series will run at film festivals in Sicily and Miami.  In total Chuby and Abbott have developed six more episodes to finish off the first season along the concept for four more seasons.

The live action sitcom was picked up and funded by Telus STORYHIVE. Geoff and the Ninja was completed this fall and is now available to watch on Telus Optik and Youtube
