UPDATE: Highway 97 reopens just south of Pine Pass Summit

MACKENZIE — Update: North District RCMP Cpl. Madonna Saunderson says a two-vehicle crash involving two commercial vehicles was the cause of the Highway 97 closure just south of the Pine Pass Summit yesterday.

Miraculously, she says no one was seriously injured though it took several hours to clear the scene and reopen the road late last night.

Earlier: Travellers beware: an accident has closed Highway 97 eight to 10 kilometres south of the Pine Pass Summit.

According to Drive BC, the incident occurred between Kennedy Road and Azu Sub Road earlier this afternoon.
