PRINCE GEORGE – The new library entrance project is one step closer to reality.

“We’re into the phase now where we have gone to public tender for a call to contractors,” explains Dale Jarvis, Project Supervisor. “The design if complete and we’ere out for tender. We’re hoping to close in early April with construction, hopefully, to begin in early spring.”

The project has been on the City’s radar for years but remained in the Capital Budget “unfunded” category, which means it was recognized as a project that needs to be done but was now a priority. That was until 2013 when Council voted to make it a priority.

The Council of the day also chose one of three possible options and settled on the one with a budget of $2.5 million. It also opted to pay for is in-house rather than through debt.
