In a battle of two heavyweights, it was the Spruce Kings who threw the first punch in their series versus the Chilliwack Chiefs. The Kings dominated game one of their BCHL Mainland Division final against the Chiefs winning 7-0.

It took a little while before the first goal of the game was scored but Ben Poisson got things going with his fourth of the playoffs with just over three minutes to go in the first. From there, Dustin Manz took over and scored a natural hat trick.

He scored with just under a minute to go in the first to give the Kings a 2-0 lead after 20. The Kings also outshot the Chiefs 14-4 in the first. Manz then scored his second of the night less than a minute into the second before getting his hat trick five minutes into the middle frame.

Nick Bochen would make it 5-0 Kings 12 minutes into the second that chased Chiefs netminder Daniel Chenard after allowing five goals on 22 shots. Dylan Anhorn added two goals in the final minute and a half of the period to seal the Kings victory.
