PRINCE GEORGE — Northern Health and the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy have issued a dust advisory for Prince George, Quesnel and Burns Lake.

They say it’s been prompted by road traffic stirring up winter traction materials that have accumulated on roadways over the past winter.

The Provincial Ambient Air Quality Objective is 50 micrograms per cubic metre averaged over 24 hours and the current 24-average concentrations for Prince George and neighbouring communities are:

  • Prince George 50.2
  • Quesnel 83.2
  • Burns Lake 51.1
