Air quality advisory continuing for Prince George

PRINCE GEORGE- The air quality advisory that was assessed for Prince George earlier this week remains in effect due to high concentrations of fine particulate matter.

Exposure to this matter is concerning to infants, the elderly and those who have diabetes and lung or heart disease.

Staying indoors is recommended to help reduce exposure to fine particulate matter.

The city’s Clean Air Bylaw disallows all open burning including back yard and land clearing burning. Under air quality advisories, the bylaw also prohibits recreational fires, wood-burning appliances, except for wood burning appliances, and street sweeping activities.
