Quesnel Airshow a go

QUESNEL – After a four-year hiatus, the Internation Airshow in Quesnel is a go. The show alternates between Quesnel and Vanderhoof. The last time it was slated for a Quesnel visit was 2017. But the wildfires posed a risk and the show was cancelled.

“They took over the airport. The government had the airport, so there was no getting away with it at all,” explains Caroline Mitchell, one of the organizers for this year’s event.

It was a tough decision for the community at the time, a real blow to its tourism, something Tourism Prince George says is espcially bad for communities that rely on rubber-tire traffic.

“You have to give tourists a reason to stay,” says Erica Hummel, CEO of Tourism Prince George. “Otherwise, they’re just going to keep on moving.”
