RDFFG to hire FireSmart employee

PRINCE GEORGE — The Regional District of Fraser-Fort George intends on hiring an employee to help residents FireSmart their properties.

They would primarily go out into the electoral areas in the region to help with residents in more rural areas, but neighbouring municipalities are also expected to be a part of the process. Property owners will learn ways wildfires could threaten them and steps that can be taken to reduce risk. The Regional District hopes this can help to prevent another record-breaking wildfire season.
