Full Circle: Cariboo coach reflects on 11-year-old matchup

The Cariboo Cougars are getting set to play in the Pacific Regional Final this weekend. The 3-game series pits the BC Major Midget champs against the Alberta Midget Champions, the Calgary Buffaloes. Funny enough, these two teams met in the same situation back in 2008, when the team’s assistant coach was still taking the ice with his local team. Berra had 48 points in his only season with the Cariboo Cougars, where they lost in the Pacific Regional Final to the Calgary Buffaloes. The team featured notable alums like Minnesota Wild draft pick Brett Bulmer, Stanley Cup Champion Brett Connolly, and eventual Spruce King Assistant Captain Nick DeSousa. Now 11 years later, the teams meet again.
