He’s done it before and he’s looking to do it again, represent his country. Yesterday, it was Matej Toman attending the Czech Republic hockey camp, and today it’s Taylor Gauthier.  The Cougars goaltender has been named to Team Canada’s training camp roster ahead of the 2019 Men’s World Under-18 Hockey Championship hosted in Sweden. Gauthier has represented Canada twice before, once at the 2017 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge, and again last August when he won a gold medal with Canada’s Hlinka-Gretzky Cup team. Gauthier also played in the Sherwin-Williams CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game this season and NHL Central Scouting has him ranked fifth among North American Goalies leading up to this year’s NHL Draft. The roster will be in Sweden next week for two pre-tournament games ahead of the 2019 Men’s World Under-18 Hockey Championship, which start on April 18th.
