PRINCE GEORGE — The new transitional housing building for An Association Advocating for Women and Children holds 28 units. Nearly all of them are filled and the expectation is that the rest will be taken in about a week.

Inside the units are a bed, some furniture, small appliances, and a bathroom. Downstairs there’s a communal hair-dressing room and kitchen.

The building is called Olive’s Branch, named after Olive Mawhinney, who was a major contributor to AWAC until her passing two years ago.
