PRINCE GEORGE — A presentation was made at this week’s school board meeting about mental health resources for SD 57 students.

It highlighted the need for more school councillors to be addressing mental health concerns. While every high school has councillors, the same can’t be said for elementary schools.

Canadian Mental Health Association data from 2017 shows Kindergarten-to-12 schools is the highest priority location for screening and early service provision, with children and adolescents being in the top three for priority populations.
