Masich Place opens Monday, other fields to follow

PRINCE GEORGE- It may be early April, and some people might still have a little bit of snow in their yards but the city has already cleared Masich Place to open, with other parks soon on their way.
Masich Place stadium is all set for the public’s use starting on Monday. The recently redeveloped stadium’s synthetic turf infield allows teams and user groups to access the field earlier in the spring and later into the fall than at other civic fields, which have natural turf.
While the stadium is opening earlier than other fields this year, it will not be open during statutory holidays. It also may be closed during ticketed events, or when it is deemed hazardous to have multiple groups using the facility at the same time such as football and soccer.
Other parks and fields should be ready to go early May with Connaught Hill having an April 18th opening tentatively pencilled in.
