FORT ST. JAMES — Mounties are seeking the public’s help in locating a missing man.

North District RCMP Cpl. Madonna Saunderson says 27-year-old Jarett Sutherland has not been seen or heard from since Friday, April 5 when he last spoke with his mother.

She says personal items belonging to Sutherland were found near the Stuart River Bridge in Fort St. James and that there is reason to believe Sutherland may have intentionally walked into the river.

“Search and Rescue were called and a ground and air search was conducted,” Saunderson says. “A swift water rescue team was also called to aid in the search. To date, Sutherland has not been located.”
