PRINCE GEORGE — Talk about taking a bite out of crime.

Two people from Prince George are in police custody after two police dogs helped chase them down after police allege they stole a truck.

Police located a Ford F-350 pickup they believed was stolen just after 7 a.m. driving southbound on Highway 97 between Prince George and Hixon.

Police, with the help of police service dogs 'Jak' and 'Taz', eventually arrested the suspects after they ditched the car and fled.

Following the arrest, police recovered a loaded shotgun, an improvised explosive device and other weapons.

One of the suspects, a 19-year-old woman, was treated in hospital for minor bite wounds. The other suspect was a 27-year-old man.

Police say the truck was stolen just after 4 a.m. this morning from a home on Piedmont Crescent in College Heights.
