BRITISH COLUMBIA— The Province is aiming to support local government and First Nation investments in building projects, aiming to lower energy costs, reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and lead to more affordable community infrastructure under the CleanBC plan.

The new Community Energy Leadership Program (CELP) funding intake opened today (April 15). CELP’s goal is to support investments in energy efficiency and clean energy projects to help communities reduce GHG emissions, increase energy efficiency, stimulate economic activity and promote partnerships to advance the province’s growing clean energy sector. The $650,000 CELP funding is part of CleanBC’s initiatives to attempt to put B.C. on the path to a cleaner, better future, with a low-carbon economy.

CELP has provided $1.5 million for 25 projects since launching in 2015.
