RCMP Victim Services looking for volunteers to add to their roster

PRINCE GEORGE – RCMP victim services are holding an information session tonight at the downtown station for people who are interested in joining the roster of volunteers.
Victim Services offers its members extensive training and an entirely unique experience from any other volunteering.
Victim services members accompany RCMP officers to crime scenes among other duties. One of the most important parts of what Victims Services does is accompanying victims of crimes to any court dates they may have to attend.
For volunteer members, being in the victim services can give them a different look on how people react to the traumatic events and how they can affect a person. The job can be mentally and emotionally taxing for the volunteers but at the same time can be incredibly rewarding.
