Spruce Kings clinch Fred Page Cup

VERNON — The Prince George Spruce Kings beat the Vernon Vipers tonight on the road 3-1 to clinch their first Fred Page Cup in club history, four games to none.

Nolan Welsh, Ben Poisson and Patrick Cozzi scored for Prince George while Teddy Wooding had the lone goal for Vernon.

The Spruce Kings were outshot 19-18 before 2219 fans at Kal Tire Place.

Prince George will now play for the Doyle Cup starting next Friday in Brooks Alberta.

The Spruce Kings also gain an automatic berth in the RBC Cup starting May 11.
