PRINCE GEORGE – The BC Wildfire Service is hoping to educate youngsters on how they can keep their homes safe during wildfire season.

42 education kits and programming for kids from Kindergarten to grade 12 have been developed and distributed through the province.

The program covers everything from Firesmart disciplines to what can be done around the house to make it more wildfire resilient.

BC Wildfire Service Information Officer Forrest Tower says the aim of the program is to “target the younger generation and influence their behaviour going forward.”
