I love where we live and am always inspired by the great people and organizations who make a difference, not only in our community but beyond.  March 8th, 2019 is International Women’s Day.  International Women’s Day began as a result of the hard work of labour movements in North America and across Europe.  Focused on women’s rights and the right to equal participation, the day is now observed in both developing and developed countries.

An Interesting Year Ahead

Every year during the holiday season I look forward to receiving something very special in the mail.  I have known Victoria Taylor since I was a little girl.  She was the cook at the Prince George Seniors’ Centre for almost 40 years and is now living with Alzheimer's. She is also a talented artist and has created beautiful cards and now a yearly calendar that features one of her pictures.  It arrives in our mailbox before Christmas and becomes a regular reminder of the days and months that lie ahead.  As I was working this week Vicki’s calendar reminded me that we have an interesting year a

The Countdown is Underway

It is hard to imagine that Christmas is just around the corner.  The countdown is underway.  And these days you don’t have to rely on a simple calendar to help remind you of those looming deadlines.  Our grandsons love their chocolate countdown calendars, not to mention the Lego or Play Mobile ones.  Our son loves his craft beer countdown and our daughter-in-law has a new tea to try for the twenty-four days before Christmas.  Our daughter and her husband, who live and work in Australia, ask us to do a reverse countdown project for them since they live on the other side of the world.  For th
