The first place Spruce Kings are in action tonight as they host the Merritt Centennials. A big part of the Kings’ early success this year has been their forward depth, thanks in part to guys like Patrick Cozzi and Dustin Manz.
The Cougars played by far their wildest game of the season Friday night, dropping a back-and-forth affair with the Kelowna Rockets 7-6 in overtime. Saturday night at the CN Centre there were a lot less goals, but the result was very similar.
The last time the Greater Vancouver Canadians were in Prince George, they were watching the Cariboo Cougars hoist the BCMML trophy on the ice at Kin 1. This weekend, G-V-C was back in town looking for some revenge, and came in on top of the league at 4-and-oh.
The Timberwolves men’s soccer team is in Kelowna this weekend for two games against UBC Okanagan with huge playoff implications. UBCO has been sitting in front of the T-Wolves for the final playoff spot in the Pacific division almost all season.
We’re a month into the BCHL season, and the Spruce Kings are sitting in first place in their division, something not many people expected to see. They’ve gotten some great play from lots of their new players, including their rookie netminder, who shares a name with a movie star.
The Cougars were in Kamloops last night to take on their division rivals who have yet to pick up a win this year in five games. After his WHL goalie of the week honours last week, Tavin Grant was great again in net, but the Cougars gave him lots of support as they exploded offensively.
The Timberwolves athletic programs have had lots of siblings pass through the ranks over the years. This year is no different, with the women’s soccer team featuring Madison and Hannah Emmond. The sisters from Prince George are enjoying their first year ever playing soccer on the same team.
