PRINCE GEORGE BC- The University of Northern British Columbia hosts their signature celebration of athletics this fall – and that person is a decorated athlete that represents teamwork and athleticism in the best way.

Canadian soccer legend Karina Leblanc will speak at the 12th annual UNBC Timberwolves Legacy night, set to take place in the fall. UNBC said “A trailblazer on and off the pitch, LeBlanc brings nearly two decades of experience with Canada’s national team. The Maple Ridge, B.C. product represented Canada in five FIFA Women’s World Cups and two Olympic Games. At the 2016 Summer Olympics she earned a bronze medal. Known for her leadership, resilience and infectious energy, she has transitioned from an elite athlete to executive and global voice for inclusion. LeBlanc has served as a UNICEF Canada ambassador since March 2013 and in December of 2022, LeBlanc was appointed to the Order of Canada.”

Leblanc showcases a sense of teamwork, drive and change within not only her sport but off the field as well. For her to speak at the UNBC Legacy Night will insight wisdom to UNBC athletes and others present and have an impact on the annual Legacy Night to showcase local talent and athleticism within our community.
