Fungi Lecture At UNBC

Nov 23, 2017 | 3:50 PM

The Doug Little Memorial Lecture is taking place at UNBC tonight and the subject matter is about a little-known thing. Fungi are tiny and inconspicuous. They’re mushrooms and they’re actually the flower of a larger “plant” living underground. The fungi are a small part of a vast network underground that provides nutrients to trees and plants all around us. They represent a critical element to basic ecosystem health. That’s the nature of the Doug Little Memorial by Andy McKinnon, a researcher with the BC Forest Service in Prince George in the 1980’s.
