Crash on Highway 16 West Shuts Down Highway

**** Update at 9:00 am: One person is in hospital in serious condition after a crash on Highway 16 west of the city near the Petro Canada Station.  Two other people suffered minor injuries in the collision that involved a logging truck,  a small SUV and a pickup.  The crash closed the highway down overnight,  with some motorists stuck in a line up for hours.  Police are reminding motorists to slow down and drive to winter conditions.

***Update at 8:30 am: Highway 16 west of Prince George has been reopened in both directions.  However, highway officials are advising motorists to expect a slow commute this morning due to long traffic lineups behind Thursday night’s crash.

Highway 16 – 15 kilometres west of Prince George is currently closed in both directions according to Drive BC.  Motorists at the scene say they have been lined up since just after 11 o clock last night. Those at the scene say the crash appears to involve two logging trucks and witnesses say three ambulances and the coroner was called. The latest update from Drive BC has the road opening at 8 am.
