It’s been a dream for UNBC for decades and, today, it became much closer to a reality. With $400,000 in seed funding from the Province, UNBC will set the wheels in motion for civil and environmental engineering programs.

“We’ve got 35 seats in environmental engineering and 35 seats in civil engineering,” explains Dr. Dan Ryan, the Vice President Academic. “We’re going to have a coop option with that, so there will be an opportunity for students to work in the North and, in particular, what we’re looking to do is develop the expertise that fits in the North.”

But the College of New Caledonia has also been granted $250,000 to create a new civil engineering technologist program.

“We have start-up capital for $250,000 to do the background curriculum development and lab design and all of that,” explains Henry Reiser, President of CNC.
