CNC Shed Research Project a Success

PRINCE GEORGE — CNC’s Applied Research and Innovation Department is finishing up a successful collaboration with an insulation company.
The experiment used two identical sheds built by CNC carpentry students and monitored by an international student. One was built with a special foil insulation supplied by the Twin Maple group. Initial findings showed the shed with the foil insulation stayed warmer, and now the research department is hoping to take the project to a larger build, potentially a home.
Acting Director of Applied Research and Innovation Sorin Pasca says this project is just an example of how his department works with industry at the same time engaging students in the research.
