Spring Break Starts In The City
PRINCE GEORGE- Students of School District 57 are celebrating the first official day of spring break. This year, kids have two weeks off to enjoy. There are a number of activities to do, including the Exploration Place’s spring break camps. “It’s an opportunity for kids to really get in depth on a particular subject,” said Exploration Place manager, Tracy Calogheros. The themes of this year’s camps include Fairy Tale Science, Kitchen Science, and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Most of the camps are sold out, but the Exploration Place will be open every day of spring break including Good Friday and Easter Monday.
Travel agents are warning Prince George residents not to put off travel plans until the last minute, as many of the flights out of YXS are filling up fast. “The last two weeks have been pretty crazy around here,” said Carlson Wagonlit Travel agent, Christine Meierhofer, “a lot of the planes leaving out of here are full… spring break is something that needs to be booked well in advance.” Meierhofer added people who want to sneak in a last minute trip will have to spend a lot for a spot on the plane. “It’s not going to be cheap, unfortunately as the planes fill up the price goes higher.”
