PRINCE GEORGE – A senior’s home is not Alban Classical’s typical stage. With a grand piano and two clarinets, performances are being held in care homes and senior’s residences throughout Prince George. The goal is to support seniors’ mental health through the healing properties of music.
Many Prince George Chateau residents pulled up a chair to enjoy the concert.
“I think they are doing an excellent job, I’m very keen on classical music, I was brought up on classical music,” says Marlene Roberts, Prince George Chateau resident.
It’s not just professional musicians either. In order to increase the number of outreach concerts they can hold, amateur senior groups have been coached to perform and have made their debut playing for elderly residents.
