Multiple Motor Vehicle Incidents After First Snowfall

Old man winter hit the Prince George area on Saturday as snow fell overnight. Some drivers felt that impact as RCMP and fire rescue were busy with many motor vehicle incidents. The most significant one was along Highway 16, 45 kilometres west of town, just after 10:00 a.m., where at least two vehicles skidded off the road and down an embankment. One four door sedan had significant damage, as it was split in half. The back half of the car was seen on one side of the highway, while the front of the vehicle was on the other. No word on any injuries, and how many people were involved, although some witnesses have told CKPG News that there were at least 5 ambulances at the scene. It shut the highway down for a couple of hours in both directions as crews cleaned up the debris. The highway has since re-opened to traffic.
