Quesnel Vehicle Thefts Are On The Rise
Since October 9th, there have been 24 reported thefts from vehicles in Quesnel.
RCMP say reports have been receieved from all over the city but the Uplands, Racing Road area as well as the Johnston and Carson subdivisions have been the worst hit.
Police say that you should not keep a spare key to the vehicle inside your vehicle and to always ensure you lock it every night.
If you know of any information surrounding the recent rash of thefts, you’re asked to call crime-stoppers or the RCMP.
Other Tips from Police:
Do not keep your garage door opener in your vehicle along with any identifying information as this could result in directing the suspects directly to your residence.
If you see any suspicious persons or activities near a vehicle, call the police immediately.
Park in open, visible areas. Avoid parking behind fences and hedges.
At home, light your driveway at night. Elsewhere, park in well lit areas near pedestrian traffic.
Record the serial numbers of all items of value. The serial number is the best way police have of tracking property and returning it to the rightful owner.
