Spirit Of The North Healthcare Foundation Receives Donation

The Spirit of the North of Healthcare Foundation has received a generous donation.
The local Punjabi Canadian Senior Society gathered in the foyer of the hospital to present the Foundation with a cheque for nearly 26-thousand dollars today. Members of the Society who participated in a bike-a-thon this summer were present for the event. The money will go into supporting the ECHO ultrasounds that form part of the Regional Cardiac Strategy. Healthcare Foundation CEO Judy Neiser explain the intent of the Strategy.
“We’ve always had diagnostic testing here at UNHBC for any kind of cardiac, either diagnosis or treatment,” explains Neiser. “But where they’ve needed more equipment has been more in the area of assessing people.Most cardiac patients end up going to Vancouver and[Northern Health] really decided they needed a full-fledged cardiac facility.”
