BC’s Watchdog Rules That RCMP Not Responsible For Death Of A Woman In Custody

The Independent Investigations Office has ruled that police actions or inaction’s in Quesnel, played no role in the death of a woman who was in custody earlier this month.
October 1st, Quesnel RCMP were responding to a report of an assault at the Gold Pan motel, in the 800 block of Front Street.
The alleged female victim was in breach of a court-imposed condition and was arrested by RCMP and transported to hospital where she later died.
Five IIO investigators were deployed Quesnel to interview witnesses, and analyze evidence.
RCMP meantime, are continuing to investigate.
