Relay For Life Has A New Home After Scrapping Masich Place
The 2018 Prince George Relay For Life has a new home for years to come. Exhibition Park will allow participants to have easier accessibility, and increased vendor space according to event organizers. The move away from Masich Place stadium will see participants walk/run and now bike on asphalt instead of a rubberized track. The track will take the shape of the letter “H” in the parking lot closest to the Kin 1 Arena front doors. Organizers say the “H” will allow for vendors to set up on either side of the track and there will be a designated spot for RV goers who plan to camp out for the full 24 hours. The new dates for the event are June 9th and June 10th compared to hosting the 24 hour relay on Mother’s Day. Masich Place Stadium has recently installed AstroTurf and Coordinator Aimee Cassie says the turf doesn’t allow for the set-up of tents in the infield of track.
